“The
Gospel in One Minute”
The Good News: The good news is that The One and Only God, who is
holy, made us in His image to know Him. But we sinned and cut ourselves
off from Him. In His great love, God became a man in Jesus, lived a
perfect life, and died on the cross, thus fulfilling the law Himself and taking
on Himself the punishment for the sins of all those who would ever turn and
trust in Him. He rose again from the dead, showing that God accepted
Christ’s sacrifice and that God’s wrath against us has been exhausted. He
now calls us to repent of our sins and trust in Christ alone for forgiveness.
If we repent of our sins and trust in Christ, we are born again into a new life,
an eternal life with God.
Now that is good news!

Ministry 2008
Before the month is over Baptist Park will ring with the voices
and laughter of campers making friends and life long memories. More
importantly, they will be hearing the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ and
the unchanging truth of His word. Months of planning and preparations are
quickly ending and the ministry of Baptist Park will be going full steam ahead.
Your support is needed more than ever. Please remember to pray for Baptist Park
in your own prayer times and during your congregation’s gatherings. Also, your
financial gifts are necessary. Please remember that the regular giving of
individuals and congregations is needed most during the camping season. Also,
if you’d like to do some work at Baptist Park, just give us a call. We’ll work
with you to find a job that fits your schedule, interests and abilities.
Deadline Extended
The deadline to register for Flight Camp has been
extended until all slots are full or the day of registration, whichever comes
first. This is an exciting opportunity for teens to learn about aviation in
general and missions aviation in particular.
Finances
Our Treasure, Mike Ireland, reports that we have $8,500 available
for camp start up expenses. Normally it costs roughly $10,000 to open camp.
Remember, as a step of faith the Executive Board did not renew the credit line.
We are trusting God to provide through his people. Will you make a tax
deductible donation?
Man vs. Water Men’s Retreat
Time is running out, men, to reserve your spot in the
raft. Rev. Steve Straubel is preparing to bring us God’s word in a clear,
relevant way. Get your registration in soon. Remember: Every tenth
registration rafts for free (just pay for food and lodging). Registration and
complete details in the brochure or at
www.2thepark.com.
Women’s Retreat,
September 5-6, 2008 Lois Flewelling, founder and
President of Empowering Life Ministries in Houlton, will speak on the theme
Continuous Shine. The focus of the retreat will be on stepping up into the
higher calling God has for women. Registration forms are in the brochure.
Stand in
the Gap & Rebuilding the Wall Response to these
two new funding opportunities is encouraging. If you haven’t heard, Stand in
the Gap provides emergency funding if income falls short of normal expenses.
Rebuilding the Wall is an effort to catch up on deferred maintenance. In both
programs, individuals pledge to give a certain amount within thirty days of it
being requested. If you’d like to receive more details about these programs,
contact Baptist Park.
